Master Gardener Program Manager
Time with ANR
I coordinate two coiunties' Master Gardener programs, with a combined total of more than 300 volunteers. A typical day might include providing support for the two demonstration gardens, website work, purchasing, working with a committee or individual volunteer to facilitate a full program of educational outreach to our clientele, arranging for recruitment and training of new Master Gardeners, and partner outreach.
Most Memorable Moment
Becoming a Master Gardener in 2003, and in the succeeding years (before I bacame the program manager) being recognized by my peers as Volunteer of the Year and Educator of the Year.
What I love Most About Working for ANR
It is a pleasure to work with some of the nicest and most dedicated people: both Master Gardener volunteers and UC staff.
I started out in 2003 as a Master Gardener volunteer. After logging over 6,000 hours in the program, I became the program manager in 2010. I'm passionate about this program and what it provides the residents of California.
