Centennial Staff Profiles
UCCE Butte County / Cluster
Time with ANR
My job involves delivering adult nutrition education within the communities of the Butte Cluster. It is also my responsibility to communicate with all agencies where I conduct my lessons and to maintain an excellent partnership with the agencies so that, together, we can help our participants make changes and better our communities.
Most Memorable Moment
I have only been working for UC ANR under the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) for 6 months. I have had many memorable moments in my short time of employment. It is difficult to pinpoint my MOST memorable moment because they all mean so much to me. The moments that stay with me are when my lesson participants tell me about lifestyle changes they have made for themselves and for their families, and how they feel healthier.
What I love Most About Working for ANR
What I enjoy most about my job is the satisfaction I get at the end of my day knowing I work for a program that is designed to empower low-income families to make lifestyle changes within their reach. It is exciting to witness participants making better food choices and integrating lifestyle changes that can impact the health of their entire family and community.
I was in pursuit of new career where I could put to use my bilingual skills and make a difference in the community that I grew up in. After many months of searching and applying for jobs, a close friend of mine told me about the position at the Butte County UCCE office and I applied, and now I am proud to be a part of a wonderful team of EFNEP and CalFresh representatives who work hard every day, making changes within the communities that we serve.
