Title Staff Research Associate (Fish Biologist)
 Location UCCE Sonoma County
 Time with ANR 4.5 years
 Typical Day

On a typical day, I will organize and lead a field crew to conduct coho salmon monitoring on an area stream. This can mean snorkeling to look for juvenile fish, hiking the creeks in the winter to look for adult salmon, or checking our fish trap.

 Most Memorable Moment

My most memorable moment working with UCCE was in winter of 2010, when we first saw an adult coho salmon digging a redd (an egg-laying nest) in Green Valley Creek. Up to that point, we had never observed this in area creeks.

What I love Most About Working for ANR

I love working outdoors to help restore an endangered species that is important both to the community and to the environment.

 My Story

I saw this job posting and literally thought, “This position is made for me.” I told the interview committee the same thing, and apparently they agreed because they offered me the position.

Here's to another 100 years of science and service!
