UCCE Fresno County – UC CalFresh
Nutrition Program Coordinator
Time with ANR
My typical day is quite fun! I work with principals, educators, and community members to deliver research-based nutrition education to adults and youth within Fresno County.
Most Memorable Moment
Leaving UC Berkeley and being warmly welcomed by UC Davis. I value the academic excellence that the University of California stands for. To leave one campus but still be part of the UC family was my most memorable moment.
What I love Most About Working for ANR
Encouraging the future leaders of tomorrow (youth) to make healthy lifestyle changes; to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and stay physically active.
After graduating with a degree in Biology and a minor in Environmental Studies, I found my niche working with the UC Berkeley Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management. Working for Dr. Kent Daane gave me an opportunity to grow professionally but also helped me to understand the UC values. After working at the UC Kearney Agricultural Research and Extension Center for 8 years, I wanted to explore my passion of nutrition. For the past two years I have worked for the UC CalFresh Nutrition Education Program in Fresno. Two different campuses, same goal: teaching, research, and public service.
