Most Memorable Moment
My very first presentation on campus to faculty who appreciated the Extension way. They were presenting academic work, and I had a people story from on the ground that was changing lives. My presentation generated the most discussion.
What I love Most About Working for ANR
There is always something new. Programs evolve as you meet people and develop relationships, and they take you on journeys you hadn't even planned. Seeing people achieve and thrive; a new farm, a new product, whatever it is.
My Story
A professor at Cal Poly suggested I look into Extension. I got an internship and met many UCCE advisors from all over the state. I went to Davis to get my masters and met many more Extension people who loved their jobs. I was lucky to get hired from a pool of 85. I was in the first group of women agricultural advisors hired in the early 80s.
