Centennial Staff Profiles
UCCE Inyo & Mono Counties
County Director and Farm Advisor
Time with ANR
I get to work with local food producers, community garden groups, and homeowners, helping them solve problems they have growing horticultural crops in the eastern Sierra. I also get to help 4-H youth and their families, supporting the youth in their personal growth. Part of my job it to oversee administrative aspects of UCCE programs such as 4-H and Master Gardeners. These are busy programs!
Most Memorable Moment
I got to visit Joseph Swall's original apple orchard, which UC advised on nearly 90 years ago. This was (and may still be) the highest-altitude apple orchard in the United States. We're working with the current owners to help preserve the site.
What I love Most About Working for ANR
I love solving problems and helping people understand plants and their benefits to society.
I worked in Cooperative Extension in Arkansas for more than a decade, but I am from California and was eager to work with UC ANR.
